Meet Nick
I grew up in South Africa, spending just about every school holiday in the Kruger National Park or exploring game reserves across Southern Africa with my family. One of my most vivid memories from those trips was spotting my first leopard when I was just six years old. From that moment, I was hooked on big cats, and after university (and a short stint in a suit and tie), I quickly realized that my heart belonged in the wild, not in an office.
Fast forward almost 16 years, and I’m still completely obsessed with nature and all its incredible creatures. I’m lucky enough to have had some unforgettable experiences, like that time in Botswana when a group of meerkats decided to climb onto my head while having a chat with each other—one for the memory books! Moments like these remind me why I do what I do.
In 2019, I decided to leave lodge-based guiding to travel the world and explore as many wild places as I could. Now, I lead tours through Africa, India, Brazil, Chile, and Alaska, sharing my passion for wildlife with others and helping them experience the magic of the natural world.
But guiding isn’t the only thing I care about—conservation is a huge part of my life. Through my work with Wild Wonderful World, I contribute to efforts that protect endangered species and restore wild spaces. My goal is to help others fall in love with nature, just like I did, and to give back to Mother Earth by returning land to her and helping create a better future for wildlife.

Elephant Sunset
This elephant named Essau, is one of very few big tuskers left in the wild. He lives in the Amboseli in Kenya. This shot was taken after spending around five or six hours following him on foot and the letting sun provided a perfect opportunity to grab a couple of photographs of him.
A privilege beyond words to spend time with such a beautiful creature in his natural environment.
