Leopard Gaze
This picture was captured at Londolozi in South Africa, where I guided for five years. I spent a large majority of my time with leopards at this game reserve and this particular male was one of my favourites. I was close to him on this particular morning while he lay up on a termite mound under a tree and the sunlight was hitting him beautifully with some deep shadows behind him. He had been glancing upwards at vultures flying overhead and so I zoomed right in on his head in the hopes he would do so with the early sun catching his eye, luck was on my side.
